Acting Classes with Brooke Totman

Develop a truthful acting process through the use of scene study, text interpretation, emotional exercises, improv, and working with a partner. Whether you’re an experienced professional or an absolute beginner, there is a class here for you.

Teen Program

Foundations of Acting Program

Beginning actors deserve a strong foundation of skills and concepts introduced at the right stage of their growth. Most importantly, they need a safe, respectful environment where they can experiment, make mistakes, and learn from them… and have fun!

Workshops

Shakespeare, Playwriting, Middle school, and more

Limited series acting workshops focused on specific techniques, texts or levels. Workshops are taught by 100 Lives company members, affiliate artists, or visiting guest artists from our creative community.

Private Coaching

For actors who want to go deeper into the work and into themselves. Less performance, more truth.

This is about building real, repeatable craft: specificity, listening, emotional access, and presence. Whatever you’re working on, we’ll meet you where you are and push you further.

Upcoming Workshops

Shakespeare Cram!

Saturday May 2nd @ 1pm-4pm | $75
(Intermediate)

Anxious about Shakespeare? Imposter syndrome? Does it feel unrelatable?
(Not so, not so!)

This crash course gives actors a simple roadmap for preparing classical text. We’ll explore technical rhythm and subtext analysis (omg so fun!), and use your own acting tools and shared experience to connect to all the juicy things going on in your character’s life.

Middle School Drama Club

4 week series | Ages 11-14
July 8, 15, 22, 29 @ 4pm-630pm | $190

This class gives middle schoolers an introduction to acting in a safe and supportive environment. This is a fun class! (no drama in Drama Club!) Students will build confidence and creativity while exploring the basics of performance. Each class includes improv games, physical and vocal warm-ups, and simple scene work that helps students learn how to listen, respond, and work together on stage. No experience required. 🙂

INTRO TO ACTING for Teens

4 week series | Ages 13–18
July 9, 16, 23, 30 @ 4pm-630pm | $190

Short series designed for teens who are new to acting. The focus here is getting comfortable being seen and heard! This is a supportive environment where students can take risks, have fun, and begin to trust their instincts.
Each class includes interactive theater games, body warm-ups, and exercises that build spatial awareness, confidence, and a sense of play. Expect laughter, movement, and a welcoming space to grow.

The Bard is not Hard!

4 wks / 2.5 hrs ~ $190
(Level: Beginner/Intermediate)

Many newer actors avoid Shakespeare (it can be intimidating!), but this class will teach you a real, relatable approach. Each student will be assigned a comedic monologue and learn to use the rhythm (iambic pentameter) as a sustaining heartbeat, and learn to identify the given circumstances of their character to support their character’s goals.
